Sculpture or a man?

Silicones and latex instead of skin

Man is not perfect. Never was. His body is full of imperfections, which is reflected particularly in the elderly. The skin is no longer smooth and taut, hair graying and falling out, everything starts to sag and graying. And although this is the way of things, some of it is hard to accept - fortunately are plastic surgery ... But does it really solve the problem? Has man ever been able to accept your body and that you can not stop the aging? In the twenty-first century naturalism is not quite in fashion ...
In art, this issue has already been discussed many times, but the work of Sam Jinks will not leave anyone indifferent. Australian artist creates sculptures silicone, which you have to look a few times to find out that it actually is not a living person. Color, proportion and wrinkles - all perfectly mapped!

Jinks is a small group of artists who practice the so-called hyper-realistic sculpture. Created from materials that perfectly mimic reality, a true masterpiece of sculptural art. Often, his hideous appearance too naturalistic throw the in amazement. They can also cause a shudder of horror - reality has never been so scary?

Australian artist involved in the creation of his sculptures for 11 years. He started as a makeup artist and visual effects supervisor on the film. He resigned, however, and decided to devote himself to just play. In his work, a mostly latex and silicone, the material which is able to perfectly emulate human skin.

Sculpture presented here are derived from photo-realism, which is related to the pop-art. Founded in the mid 60s of the twentieth century and the early 70's became a self-creative way. It consists in presenting the reality painting or sculpture methods with an accuracy equivalent to High Resolution photos.

An extension of photorealism is built around
2000, the hyper-realism, which uses photo-realistic methods to express certain emotions or social attitudes by creating an existential or situational context shocking display of degeneration (sickness, disability).

This phenomenon is the experience of taking over, because it shows "how a living" reality completely dead. The more efficient workshop is an artist, the greater the illusion of reality, the more pronounced is the deadness of the work. It is in this contrast includes the importance of hyperrealism and his spiritual message.
