Bekal

Bekal is a small region located in Kasargod district of Kerala. The place also has its own historical significance. Being a significant tourism spot, Bekal has quite several prominent features. Its scenic beauty grabs the attention of many visitors from different places.

When To Go

Bekal offers mixed climate and most of the year the climate is temperate. During summers (March to May), its hot and the temperature reaches at peak of 36 °C. In monsoons (June to September), the region experiences heavy rainfalls with a high humidity of nearly 90%. Winters (December to February) are dry with moderate and cool climate. It is best to visit Bekal during October to March.

Bekal Fort

Known for its attraction and glorious appearance, Bekal Fort is one major attraction in Kerala. With more than 40 acres of extensions, tourists are sure to admire the tanks holding a flight steps and the tunnel entrancing towards the south, which are the main features of the Bekal Fort. Bekal Fort Beach

Bekal Fort beach, a kilometer away from Bekal Fort is one of the most beautiful beaches of Kasaragod district in Kerala. Bestrewed with palm trees, the beach gives pleasing palpate to the visitors. They are sure to adore the sculptures of Theyyam as well as the rock garden at the parking area of the beach.

Chandragiri Fort

    popular Chandragiri Fort, located 10 km from Bekal is believed to have its existence during 1000 A.D. Enclosed with strong walls, the main building also known as the ‘Raj (Chandragiri) Mahal’ is magnificent in appearance. From the fort, one can have the perfect view of the Chandragiri River and the Arabian Sea.

Bekal Hole Aqua Park

   Located to the north, just a kilometer from Bekal Fort is the Aqua Park. Famous for its kind in north Malabar, the Aqua Park is the perfect location to enjoy and have a great time. The park provides the facilities of pedal boats, water cycles and several other water rides.

Hosdurg Beach

   Located 23 km south of Kanjhangad is the beautiful Hosdurg Beach. Covered with tawny sands, casuarina orchards and the picturesque cottages, the beach is a perfect location to have a great holiday. During the month of October, tourists can a get a view of turtles nesting in the shore.

Malik Deena Mosque

   The historical Malik Deena Mosque is located in the Kasargode District of Kerala. It was founded by Malik Ibn Deenar and has typical Malabar style of architecture. Many tourists visit this mosque during the Uroos Festival.

Nileswaram

   Nileswaram is located 12 km from Bekal and is the cultural centre of the district. The palace operating as a legendry traditional knowledge centre of the Department of Archaeology is the main spotlight of the site. Besides, the place is also famous for various places of worship and temple festivals.

Nityanandashram Caves

   Nityanandashram in Hosdurg which attract quite a number of visitors is a perfect spot for meditation. Set with 45 caves, the main attraction of Nityanandashram is the Sculpture of Swami Nityananda. Being an international far-famed spiritual center, it is a place worth to pay a visit.

Valiyaparamba Backwaters

   The picturesque Valiyaparamba backwater, situated in Kasargod district is one of most scenic backwater stretch in Kerala. Valiyaparamba, a piece of land separated from mainland is a notable fishing centre. Grabbing many visitors by its scenic appearance, Valiyaparamba is also an ideal picnic spot.
